September 1, 2020 (Pittsburgh, PA)—Othot, Inc., the leader in artificial intelligence and prescriptive analytics for higher education, is carrying its 2019 momentum into 2020, announcing new partner institutions, product updates, a successful Virtual Event, and a new Vice President of Marketing.
Othot is pleased to welcome a diverse slate of higher ed institutions to its roster of Partner Institutions, including Bucknell University, Carlow University, Colorado State University, University of Michigan-Dearborn, and Wilkes University. Because Othot works closely with their customers to build their data models and provide guidance on next actions to take with the findings, Othot calls their customers “Partners.”
“We are thrilled to add this group of institutions to Othot’s Partners,” said Fred Weiss, President and CEO of Othot. “They represent the diversity of higher education institutions that can benefit from the use of predictive and prescriptive analytics in driving successful outcomes.”
In 2020, as with every year, Othot has been heavily focused on listening to their Partners and adding functions and features in the Othot Platform that improve the user experience, deliver value, and move the market forward. Here are some of the innovative product features, new this year to the Othot Platform, that will better enable their Partners to manage through the impacts of the pandemic on higher ed:
“We have felt the pain of the higher ed market challenges brought on by the pandemic. These challenges have strengthened our commitment to help our Partners achieve their Fall 2020 Enrollment goals, and the new features in the Platform are demonstrative of that commitment to our Partners,” said Weiss. “By equipping our Partners with critical data-driven insights, they can confidently make decisions and simulate strategies before taking on the risk. That’s important because of the uncertainties that COVID-19 is having on higher ed, especially leading into the next enrollment cycle when test-optional admissions and virtual events will further disrupt the enrollment cycle.”
In August, Othot hosted its third annual conference for its Partner Institutions. One hundred higher ed leaders from 65 institutions attended Othot’s Virtual Partner Experience, breaking Othot’s previous attendance records. Participants attended eight sessions over two days with speakers from six institutions that represented different regions in the U.S, sizes, and institution types, and Othot leadership. Donald S. Burke, MD, Jonas Salk Chair in Population Health, Dean Emeritus, Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh, and Nathan Grawe, Ph.D., Professor of Economics, Carleton College, were the keynote speakers, speaking, respectively, about “Predicting the Pandemic” and the future decline in the number of college-aged students.
Othot helps their Partners achieve and exceed their goals and has continued to deliver institution-changing results even during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help deepen awareness of Othot’s capabilities and its Partner’s successes, Amy Baker has joined the leadership team as Vice President of Marketing. Baker brings nearly 30 years of B2B technology marketing experience and success across several industries, including higher education.
“Amy Baker brings a fresh perspective and approach to our marketing and leadership teams,” said Weiss. “She has demonstrated an ability to create strong brands, grow awareness, and create scalable growth. She’s a tremendous asset to the team, and I’m thrilled to have her on board.”
Baker was most recently head of marketing at Pittsburgh cybersecurity start-up Wombat Security (acquired by Proofpoint in 2018) where she led the marketing and product management team to grow from $110K to $38M annual revenue at acquisition.
