Othot Gains Speed Helping Higher Education Institutions Achieve Goals through Artificial Intelligence

Othot welcomed new partner institutions, released innovative analytics features, hosted a virtual conference, and added to their leadership team

Welcoming New Partners from Across the Nation

Othot is pleased to welcome a diverse slate of higher ed institutions to its roster of Partner Institutions, including Bucknell University, Carlow University, Colorado State University, University of Michigan-Dearborn, and Wilkes University. Because Othot works closely with their customers to build their data models and provide guidance on next actions to take with the findings, Othot calls their customers “Partners.”

Innovative Product Features

In 2020, as with every year, Othot has been heavily focused on listening to their Partners and adding functions and features in the Othot Platform that improve the user experience, deliver value, and move the market forward. Here are some of the innovative product features, new this year to the Othot Platform, that will better enable their Partners to manage through the impacts of the pandemic on higher ed:

  • Goal Predictions — Partners can determine if they are predicted to meet their most critical annual goals at any point in time. With the ability to create as many Goals in the Platform as needed, Othot Partners feel more confident in knowing which KPIs need their attention and when.
  • Admission Decision Simulations — Partners can use What-If analysis to predict if these admissions decisions could result in meeting enrollment, academic profile, and financial aid goals and ultimately achieve yield.
  • Persona Groups — Partners need the ability to determine which students would benefit most from specific messaging to create targeted recruitment and marketing campaigns. The new Groups feature takes advantage of AI clustering methods to populate more advanced “personas” than any other product on the market.
  • Scenario Simulations — Partners are using the Othot Platform to simulate countless tactics, from new financial aid strategies, to high school visits from recruiters, to admissions decisions. Scenario Simulations enables Partners to feel more confident implementing multiple strategies by combining the impacts from these simulated tactics into one predicted outcome.

Record-breaking Virtual Partner Experience

In August, Othot hosted its third annual conference for its Partner Institutions. One hundred higher ed leaders from 65 institutions attended Othot’s Virtual Partner Experience, breaking Othot’s previous attendance records. Participants attended eight sessions over two days with speakers from six institutions that represented different regions in the U.S, sizes, and institution types, and Othot leadership. Donald S. Burke, MD, Jonas Salk Chair in Population Health, Dean Emeritus, Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh, and Nathan Grawe, Ph.D., Professor of Economics, Carleton College, were the keynote speakers, speaking, respectively, about “Predicting the Pandemic” and the future decline in the number of college-aged students.

Enhancing Othot’s Growth Engine with New Talent

Othot helps their Partners achieve and exceed their goals and has continued to deliver institution-changing results even during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help deepen awareness of Othot’s capabilities and its Partner’s successes, Amy Baker has joined the leadership team as Vice President of Marketing. Baker brings nearly 30 years of B2B technology marketing experience and success across several industries, including higher education.

Baker was most recently head of marketing at Pittsburgh cybersecurity start-up Wombat Security (acquired by Proofpoint in 2018) where she led the marketing and product management team to grow from $110K to $38M annual revenue at acquisition.
